Let’s Write a Story! (11-13 years)
From the pharaohs of ancient Egypt to the Great Fire of London, history has many stories to expand and explore. In this workshop designed for budding writers, you’ll explore past worlds, learn the skills you need to turn historical fact into fiction, and write the opening of your own story.
Designed for young people aged 11 – 13 years. Places are limited to 15 participants – please book in advance to secure your seat. Choose to pay what you can afford during checkout – £7.50, £5, or £2.50.
Please note: Parents and guardians are not expected to stay for the workshop – Dragon Hall is located a short walk from the city centre and is surrounded by shops and coffee shops. If the attendee has needs which require additional support, please book an essential companion ticket.

About the workshop leader
Rebecca Stonehill is the author of three historical novels: The Poet’s Wife, The Girl and the Sunbird, and The Secret Life of Alfred Nightingale. She is the founder of Magic Pencil, an initiative to take creative writing and poetry into schools and get children exciting about storytelling, language and the magic of words.
